BADLY dressed golfers chipped in this month at the Sandhurst Club to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
The Sandhurst Club’s sixth annual ‘Bad Pants Invitational’ charity golf day on Good Friday was a hit, raising $14,326 for the appeal.
Golf day co-ordinator Colin Steel said the bad pants dress code was strictly enforced this year to ensure the high quality of the event, which had been undermined a couple of years ago when a few golfers turned up well dressed.
“Unusual outfits were encouraged,” he said.
“Course stewards wanted to see bright garish colors such as combinations of yellow, red, fluoro pink and bright purple to uphold the quality of the presentation of the event.”
“Prizes were awarded to the best dressed team and the best dressed individual.”
Mr Steel said the event also had a strong environmental theme, with many of the players of past events recycling their old shirts, blouses and pants which had gone out of fashion to comply with the dress standards of bad taste.
