Hands together for volunteers

LYNDHURST Secondary College students were given a pat on the back for their dedication to a volunteering initiative at school.
The Year 9 students took park in an advance program where they worked with a range of community organisations covering topics that included community health, fit for life, animal welfare and homelessness.
Students organised fundraisers and drives for non-perishable food items, clothes and stationery.
Teaching pedagogy leader Mirella Dammers said she was proud of the students’ efforts.
“Throughout this term you have worked extremely hard and have developed some strong links with community agencies such as the RSPCA, the Salvation Army, Lynbrook Primary School and Life Saving Victoria,” Mrs Dammers said.
“You have all shown wonderful teamwork skills and have shown us all how, with your determination, you can start with an initial idea for a project and get this project off the ground and turn it into a success.”
Mrs Dammers said she wanted to thank the RSPCA and the Salvation Army for their support.
