Need for speed

Adrenaline junkies had the rare and exciting opportunity to jump in the passenger seat with a world class pilot who provided joy flights at Tooradin airfield.

People from the South East experienced what it was like to be a real-life race pilot with Matt Hall, a three-time air race world championship and runner-up from Australia’s only Red Bull Air Race team who visited Tooradin on April 14-15.

Mr Hall said it was fantastic for his team to make it back to Tooradin Airfield.

“We have been there in the past, so it was really awesome to see how much it has changed in the time since. We had the opportunity to meet lots of locals and take quite a few for joy flights too,” he said.

“Both myself and one of our up-and-coming pilots Emma McDonald conducted all the joy flights.

“For us it was a beautiful change of scenery and a great chance to take some of our Victorian fans flying. We probably need to come back more often!”
