Indigenous music hits high note

Students of Clyde Primary School welcomed a visit from Aboriginal singer-songwriter Scott Darlow on Thursday 28 February.

Mr Darlow not only sang some of his hit songs but also spoke at length to the students about his Aboriginal heritage.

“Scott was a natural storyteller, regaling the students with tales from his childhood and his experiences as an Indigenous performer, travelling the world,” senior teacher Bradley Andrews said.

“Scott’s warm and engaging personality ensured this presentation positively connected with the students.

“They enjoyed interacting with Scott on stage and enjoyed his humourous approach,” he added.

Mr Andrews said Year 5 and 6 students had been learning about Aboriginal History and Culture and Mr Darlow’s performance helped to further enhance the students’ knowledge and understanding.
