Woman airlifted to hospital

A woman in her forties was airlifted to hospital, when a car collided with a truck in Cardinia on Friday 7 December.

Police and emergency services were called to the collision on Ballarto Road about 1.50pm.

A CFA media spokesperson said firefighters from Clyde CFA extricated a woman who had been trapped by the feet in a ute.

The woman was flown by air ambulance to The Alfred in a stable condition with soft tissue injuries and lacerations.

The male truck driver was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The exact cause of the collision will be investigated.
