Megaswim for MS research

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

Teams of people came together at the Casey RACE swimming pool to raise funds for MS research by swimming laps for 24 consecutive hours on Saturday 8 July and Sunday 9 July.
The MS 24 Hour Megaswim aims to raise as much money as possible to help people who are suffering from the disease as well as to help find a cure.
Teams also competed for prizes and trophies during the event as well as joined in activities to keep everyone motivated and have a great time.
The event attracted support from groups such as the City of Casey, Casey RACE and the Kiwanis Club of Berwick.
MS Event co-ordinator Kelly Tyndall said the Casey 24 Hour Swim event was a great success.
“It was an amazing event and everything went really smoothly,” she said.
“We have raised a total of $10,145, but donations are open for another four months.”
Anyone looking to support MS research and support can donate at www.msmegaswim.org.au or by phoning 1300 733 690.
