Police rapt with cup

POLICE were very impressed with the overall behaviour of patrons who attended the luxbet.com Cranbourne Cup on Sunday, making two arrests at the event.
Sergeant Karl David from Cranbourne Police Station said the two arrests were made for being drunk in a public place. Sgt David said police alsoattended two brawls outside the event, but were pleased with crowds on the whole, given about 8500 people attended the cup.
“Overall the security performed very well and the management of the cup did a great job,” Sgt David said.
“It was all done extremely well.”
About 10 police members attended the event and there were two police horses at the grounds.
“I’m sure we will be working closely with the organisers to make sure next year runs as well, if not better,” Sgt David said.
