Fightback as masked bandits attack

By Victoria Stone-Meadows

There was a dramatic scuffle at a milk bar in Hampton Park on Saturday 18 March when masked bandits robbed a store on Coral Drive and assaulted two people.
Police have been told five people all wearing masks and dressed in dark clothing entered the store, about 8pm.
Two of the men jumped the counter and assaulted the 33-year-old female shop attendant and forced her to the ground while another male stole cigarettes and cash from the till as a female accomplice kept watch.
The 45-year-old partner of the shop attendant tussled with a fifth crook, who was armed with a knife, at the front of the store
The 45-year-old managed to push the robber out the front door and through an adjoining shop window.
The shop attendant was assessed at the scene for minor injuries but her partner was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment of his injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or with further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
