PARENTS had the opportunity to see their children shine in the classroom environment when Maramba Primary School, Narre Warren, held its open evening.
Last Wednesday, the steps children take through their journey from Prep to Grade 6 were showcased, through work displays, performances, and demonstrations, as part of Education Week celebrations.
With writing the focus in schools this year, examples of writing styles and genres from all levels were put on show and classrooms were filled with the students’ creative works.
A number of performances took place including Lizzie Lizard’s Reptile Show, keyboard shows in the music room and the middle school and senior school choirs performed in the gallery.
Grade 5 and 6 students, from the School Representative Committee, and deputies gave tours of the school and assisted new visitors with general inquiries.
The Cultural Language Centre was open to tour and interactive whiteboard demonstrations, visualisation sessions and DVD displays of Claymation, puppet shows and Grade 3 photography took place.
The school received positive feedback from the school community and a great time was had by all.
