A MOLOTOV cocktail is believed to be the cause of property damage last week.
On the morning on 26 April, a 45-year-old Devon Meadows man found a broken bottle at the door of his Craig Road property. The door and step were damaged by fire.
Police said it is believed a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the house between 11pm on 25 April and 10 am on 26 April.
“A Molotov cocktail is basically a bottle filled with some type of accelerant and then lit on fire,” Senior Constable Luke Sorati said. “There are not a lot of cases like this in the area, but it does happen from time to time.”
Police said the fire had extinguished itself.
Sen Const Sorati said it was unclear whether the person responsible for the Molotov cocktail knew the 45-year-old owner of the house.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact to Detective Senior Constable Mark Weiderhold at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0667.
