PARENTS may soon be getting a letter in the mail from the police about their children – but for all the right reasons.
Cranbourne police and the City of Casey council are about to begin a new initiative to reward Cranbourne’s youth with vouchers when they are caught doing the right thing.
Cranbourne traders have jumped on board the Positive Ticketing Program, which will begin in Cranbourne in the next few weeks. Youth resource officer at Cranbourne police Leading Senior Constable Brett Owen said police would identify youth doing the right thing and send a letter home with a certificate to congratulate them for their good deed and a voucher to use in the town.
“It may be for good citizenship behaviour, helping police with their investigations, wearing a helmet when their friends are not or handing in a wallet,” Sen Const Owen said.
Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce (CCC) president Judy Davis said she encouraged all traders to get behind the ticketing program.
Kudos for kids
