School’s sea of colour

By BRIDGET SCOTT

CRANBOURNE West Primary School was a sea of colour and activities last week when the students led a community fun day.
Similar to a country show, everything was done by, and for the children who took care of stalls, activities and games.
Principal Andrew Bergmeier said the day surpassed his expectations.
“The range of activities, events and products developed by the students, demonstrated their creativity and entrepreneurial skills,” he said.
Children were involved in every aspect of the day and the event was a popular feature of the school term.
Eleven-year-old student Jemma said she enjoyed selling things and earning money for the school, while 11-year-old Lyric said he loved to see the smiles on everyone’s faces.
All of the money raised on the day will go towards updating and improving the school’s facilities.
These projects include developing a sensory garden and creative outdoor play spaces, purchasing more books for the new reading program and resources for the learning areas.
