TWO men have died after their cars struck head-on in Lynbrook on Tuesday night.
Sergeant Pat McGavigan from Casey TMU said the cars collided on South Gippsland Highway just before 9pm after one of the cars was driving on the wrong side of the road.
The cars were driven by a 37-year-old Carrum man and a 25-year-old East Keilor man, who both died at the scene. They were both the sole occupants of their cars.
Crews from Dandenong Rescue, Hallam and Hampton Park Fire Brigades attended.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the double fatal collision, involving a Toyota Lexon and a Mitsubishi sedan, which occurred near the intersection of Elliot Parade.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au
The double fatality brought Victoria’s road toll to 114, seven less than at the same time last year.
