CRANBOURNE police are on the hunt for someone who shot a ball bearing at a car.
Police were horrified to discover a ball bearing had been shot through the window of a white Hyundai station wagon last Wednesday, 21 March.
The driver of the car was driving to work along Sunningdale Crescent in Cranbourne at 5.30am when he heard a loud cracking noise.
He quickly stopped and found a small hole in the bottom driver’s side corner of the front windscreen.
A ball bearing was later found inside the car.
The man did not see anything.
Senior Sergeant Larry Grimshaw from Cranbourne CIU said police suspected some sort of slingshot device was used.
“This is very dangerous,” he said. “It could’ve resulted in an accident or injury or worse.”
Anyone with information contact the officer in charge at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
