THE Liberal Party has committed:
– At least $6 million to extend the rail line to Cranbourne East and build Cranbourne East Railway Station with an initial 150 space car park;
– Part of a multimillion-dollar commitment to upgrade local neighbourhood houses;
– Part of a statewide commitment of more than $900 million to upgrade run-down local roads;
– $1.86 million for Cranbourne’s state primary and secondary schools by the end of 2007;
– A new soccer field and sports oval at Woodlands Primary School and finish the Carrum Downs Secondary College’s sports stadium, totalling up to $900,000;
– To add more frontline police officers, which is part of a statewide strategy;
– To cutting stamp duty by $150 more than Labor’s proposal and extending the first-home buyer’s grant to $5000 per home;
– Free kindergarten for most four-year olds totalling at least $730 per child; and
– Free public transport for all children under 14 and all full-time school and university students.The Labor Party has committed:
– $13.6 million for the purchase of land in Cranbourne East to build a prep to year 12 college;
– $6.6 million to build a new Cranbourne North East Primary School, along Silky Oak Drive, Cranbourne;
– To build Casey Secondary College in Cranbourne North;
– $4.3 million for the modernisation of Cranbourne Secondary College and $2 million for the modernisation of Cranbourne West Primary School;
– $21 million for a 10-hectare extension to the Australia Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne;
– A major technical Education Centre in Berwick;
– $22 million for the duplication of Thompsons Road between South Gippsland Highway and Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne;
– To provide a Nightrider loop service to connect the Dandenong Nightrider bus service to Cranbourne and Narre Warren, with all-night public transport for youth; and
– Elective surgery blitz at local hospitals.
