CORAL Park Primary School students showed off their sports skills in the school’s first Skill-a-thon.
The event, held last Friday, was a fundraiser to help the Hampton Park school raise money to buy sports equipment.
All students at the school participated in five different sports circuits, including basketball, netball, soccer, football and tennis.
Assistant principal Gill Gray said there were some wonderful skills on display.
“The students had lots of fun participating in physical activity and supporting each other,” Ms Gray said.
She said students managed to raise money for new sports equipment for the school, and also earned some sports equipment prizes for themselves.
Ms Gray said many parents braved the cold wind to come and support the students, encouraging them in the events.
Rebel Sport in Dandenong assisted with some prizes and the Collingwood Football Club donated ‘on-the-spot’ prizes of drink bottles, hats, key chains and energy bars to help make the day lots of fun for the students.
