GRADE-four students at Hillcrest Christian College have spent this term exercising body, mind and spirit in kite making, chess, cooking, sewing, aeroplane making and more.
Students participated in a rotation of activities designed to provide them with new skills and an opportunity to work together cooperatively.
Hillcrest staff and parent volunteers have provided the students with expertise and acted as role models and guides for the students’ interactions.
Marketing and promotions officer Stuart Alsop said together the children had created the atmosphere of a craft workshop.
“This small-group program is having a positive impact on student-to-student and student-to-staff relationships, on cooperative group dynamics and on students’ positive engagement in the curriculum… and it is just plain fun,” Mr Alsop said.
