Lions Club of Cranbourne site coordinator Michael Shepherdson said it was good to see so many people get together to help beautify the park.
“It was a great day and to have the locals involved shows great initiative,” Mr Shepherdson said.
He said recent rains had helped the trees get established.
Mr Shepherdson said Casey Council had been very supportive of the tree planting, providing all the plants and tools and helping design and identify where the garden bed should be.
Lions president Diane Barker said last year they were too late to register a site so they booked in early this year.
“Many of the former Apex members who helped to establish this park for Cranbourne many years ago went on to join the Lions Club of Cranbourne,” Ms Barker said.
“With local parks playing an important role in the health of so many families, it is pleasing for us as a club, and as members of the community, to put something back into Cranbourne.”
