LOCAL bikes are revved up for this weekend’s annual Ulysses Motorcycle Club Toy Run from Cranbourne.
Now in its 27th year, the toy run sees hundreds of people load their motorbikes with donations of toys and food to donate to the Salvation Army to distribute to underprivileged families this Christmas.
The event, run by the Ulysses Motorcycle Club in conjunction with the MRA, will leave at 10am this Sunday 11 December and make its way to Calder Park.
Ulysses Motorcycle Club member Barbara Maggs, who started the event 27 years ago with friend Tony Jenner, encouraged everyone to join in.
“In past years, we have had up to 1000 people,” she said.
“It’s a good cause to get involved in.”
A police escort will leadthe convoy of riders on theirway from Centro Shopping Centre carpark, 147 High Street, Cranbourne.
There will also be awards handed out on the day including best dressed bike and bestclub attendance.
Riders are to gather at the centre from 8am, and as well as donations from the riders, people can bring along items to donate to the toy run.
