Hock and Mills bring magic show to Lang Lang

LANG LANG GOLF

It was a week that will long be remembered at Lang Lang Golf Club with not one, but two holes-in-one recorded.

On Tuesday, Nick Hock aced the ninth hole to play his final shot on the front nine, while on Saturday John Mills produced his own piece of magic on the fifth.

Tuesday’s Stableford competition was taken out by long-serving committee member Ralph Hendrich (16) with a fine score of 40 points.

Wednesday’s Silver Spoon Playoff went to Heather Payne (28), posting 39 points.

On Thursday, Laurie Burgess (14) claimed the overall stableford with 40 points, while the Two-Ball Best Ball went the way of Bill Merrigan and John Oates who combined beautifully for 47 points.

Saturday tested the field with wild weather – hail included – but that didn’t stop some excellent golf from being played.

A Grade was dominated by Brinne Ferdinandus (12) who played a great round of golf to finish on 39 points.

In B Grade, Micah Dawson (15) also returned 39 points, while C Grade went to Adam Forster (26) – three peas in a pod…also with 39 points.

The week wrapped up on a picture-perfect Sunday, where Shane O’Brien (6) edged out the field with 40 points on a countback.
