Scoring gets hot on a busy old week at Lang Lang

It was a busy and exciting week at Lang Lang Golf Club with many exciting prizes up for grabs.

Members competed in the Ladies Monthly Medal, the Midweek Monthly Medal and play continued in round 17 of the Order of Merit.

This was all alongside the regular weekly competitions.

With perfect weather and the course in top condition, there was no shortage of impressive scores.

On Tuesday, Darren Rooke (6) claimed A Grade honours in the stableford event with 36 points on countback, while B Grade went to Denis Rossetti (23) with a solid 37 points.

Wednesday saw the ladies take centre stage for the Ladies July Monthly Medal, with Sue O’Connor (28) producing a fine round to win with 39 points.

On Thursday, the Midweek Monthly Medal went to Troy Hickmott (8), who topped the field with 40 points and also secured A Grade honours.

B Grade was taken out by Robert Walker (10).

A bumper field of 177 players hit the course on Saturday for the Stableford competition.

In A Grade, Steve Johnson (13) carded a superb 41 points, B Grade was dominated by Peter Abraham (22) with a remarkable 46 points, and C Grade honours went to visitor Statios Konstantopoulos (33 – National Golf Club) with 42 points.

The week wrapped up on Sunday with Round 17 of the Order of Merit, played in stableford format. Kevin Van Den Berghe (33) delivered the standout performance of the day, posting an impressive 46 points to secure victory.
