SWGMW BOWLS
Lang Lang Bowls Club played host to an army of bowlers from the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group on Thursday; with participants all doing their best to be part of the team of the week.
The weather certainly dipped a bit from the day before, with players enjoying temperatures in the mid 20’s.
The green was in sparkling condition thanks to Neville who also set it up for our players.
We were all welcomed in by Pauline and Vern while Peter arranged the teams.
Out on the green it was great to see such happy faces and so much laughter and friendly chatter.
There were a few wrong bias shots over the day; many thanks to these charitable individuals who made a donation to the Royal Children’s Hospital tin.
Vern did an excellent job filling in for our missing president, John, who we hope he returns next week.
As per every week we have winners and we have the rest of us.
This week’s winners on a superb score of 36 were Peter McWilliams (3), Brenda Moloney (2), Amanda Bozelle (L) and Michael Dady (S).
Runners up on a score of 32 were Peter Thorley (L), Laurie Bell (3), Frank D’Unienville (2) and Tony Heppleston (S).
Best One Game winners on a score of 19 were Mark Hanrahan (S), Alan Mofum (L) and Neil Andreatta (3).
I would like to once again thank all the wonderful volunteers who are so much loved by all for all their hard work throughout the day.
With special thanks to Marianne and Colin for all the work in the bar for all our thirsty bowlers.
Also, to Aggie for her hard work in the kitchen as well as those who cleaned up in the hall and outside.
Next week we will, once again, meet up at Corinella where we will again fight it out for team of the week.
