Capsalis crowned at Corinella

Another beautiful day for bowls as 48 of our bowlers turned up at Corinella for our weekly challenge.

Overcast and 22 was the prediction for the day so all was right with the world.

We were met by Pauline and John who signed us in while Peter did the heavy lifting and arranged us all into teams.

And out we went to find today’s champions.

The weather stayed true to form for the morning session, and the bowlers took advantage of it with some great bowling around the green.

The afternoon session proved to be a continuation of the quality bowling, but the temperature definitely started to rise and the clouds shifted away making a lot of the players somewhat uncomfortable.

However, the day was a total success with some great scores as the cream rose to the top.

So, today’s winners on a score of 38 were Elias (Lou) Capsalis (L), Craig Brown (S), Gwen Jeffrey (2), Max Summers (3).

Runners Up on a score of 35 were Rob Paganoni (S), Allan Weeden (L), Phil Wright (3), Frank d’Unienville (2).

Best One Game winners on a score of 19 were Jenny Smith (L)(Inset), Dennis Tomlin (2), Michael Dady (S), Jaye Allen-Dayle (3).

A big shout out to the great volunteers today including Peter, Pauline and John for all the hard work they do each and every week.

Also to Terry behind the bar and on the green, Gwen and the girls in the kitchen, as well as Phil and Arch.

As usual I wish all our players success in their respective pennant games over the coming week.

We will be meeting up at San Remo this Thursday to once again fight it out for teams of the week.

In the meantime have fun and stay safe.

-Laurie Bell
