You can’t keep a good team down

LANG LANG GOLF

As per usual Victoria can go from perfect sunny weather to horrendous wet conditions in an instant; and that’s what happened at Lang Lang on Saturday with only 50 brave souls playing in the conditions.

Frank De Pasquale and Steve Johnson showed how it was done with a fantastic score of 64 – six under the card – to win the Ambrose event.

On Tuesday the sun was shining and the course was looking spectacular, but playing hard, as Steve Johnson’s (12) score of +1 was good enough to win A Grade.

Noel Zunnaberg (19) had the round of the day, +3 to take out B Grade and -1 was a good enough score to win a ball.

The weather took a dramatic turn on Wednesday and being the final round of ladies club championships it was going to be a mentally tough day for the contenders.

Megan Barker (23) had a fantastic round in the rain, winning the day with 75 nett.

Rena Casey (12) played solid to take out her first Club Championship with 89 and Sue O’Connor made it back to back B Grade championships with a solid score as well.

The Australian Open at Kingston Heath and Victoria Golf Club kicked off on Thursday with the best in the world taking advantage of perfect conditions; but so did the members at Lang Lang Golf Club with Ray Dalrymple (30) winning the day with 42 points and Jack Ingram and George Morozoff taking out the 2BBB event with 47 points.

A score of 35 points or better won a ball.
