Arnold has final say on chilly day at San Remo

A chilly winter morning couldn’t stop a great number of 44 members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group from making their way to San Remo for the latest edition of the weekly challenge.

Though it was very cold as bowlers made their way on the green to start the day, it wasn’t too long until the sun came out and made the day easy to take.

A reasonable breeze was blowing which made for some fun moments throughout the day, but it generally did not interfere with the quality of the games.

Once again, I would like to thank Pauline and John as well as Peter and Luke for arranging everyone for the day’s play.

A big thank you to Bev and Vern for the kebabs, they were a great surprise, very good, and very much appreciated by all.

Also thank you to Mark and Michael behind the bar as well as Gwen, Claire, Bob and everyone else who helped in the kitchen.

This week winners on 37 points were Nick Arnold (S), Amanda Bozelle (L) and Wayne Stevens (3).

Runners up on a score of 34 were David Hanlon (S), Robyn Dall (3) and Phil Wright (L).

Best One Game winners this week, on 20 points, were Max Williams (2), Elaine Williams (L), Mark Hanrahan (S) and Michael Saunders (3).

Next week we will be meeting up for our inaugural day at the Loch Bowls Club.

We look forward to introducing such a great club to our competition and hope we can add new bowlers from Loch into our weekly family.

If everyone could show up by 10am please, so we can get the teams ready and look professional at our new venue, that would be greatly appreciated.
