Borradale brings his best to Corinella

Another beautiful autumn day greeted members from the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group to Corinella last Thursday for the latest edition of the weekly challenge.

The club once again gave us a lovely spring-like day with expectations of temperatures in the 20’s; and no-one was disappointed.

A great turnout of 40 of our family of bowlers turned out to once again prove their superiority on the green against their friends and teammates.

The green was in excellent condition making the game a pleasure.

As always lots of laughter and friendly banter could be heard from all corners of the green.

There are so many people to thank for their help throughout the day, so to whomever I miss, I apologise.

Phil looked after us both in the kitchen as well as behind the bar with help from others.

David helped Peter a bit and Mark helped out with the free raffle.

And, as always, Peter, Pauline and John welcomed us to the club and prepared the teams.

One or two wrong bias bowls were played to keep the Royal Children’s Hospital tin filling and we are always happy to see this happening.

As always we have winners and we have the rest of us.

This week’s winners on 35 points were Peter Borradale (S), Steve Edge (3), Mick Sheers (2) and Arch Connell (L).

Runners up also on a score of 34 points were Phil Wright (S), Gillian Harper (3), Frank D’Unienville (2) and Margaret McConville (L).

Best One Game winners this week were Tony Heppleston (S), Wayne Stevens (3), Chris Coulson (2) and Neil Andreatta (L).

This week we will meet up once again at Corinella due to a power outage at San Remo to continue this challenge.

We look forward to seeing everyone at 10am for a 10:30am start.

Meanwhile we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable week.
