Wright team shows its class at Corinella

Great weather, great friends and a great green; Corinella really turned it on for members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group on Thursday.

It was a pleasure to see 54 bowlers turn up to try and be part of the team of the week.

We can only hope that the new bowlers today will continue to bless us with their presence in the future.

As usual our bowlers seemed to really enjoy themselves with quite a bit of friendly banter along with much laughter across all the rinks.

Not a lot of wrong bias problems this week, but we are still adding regularly to the Royal Children’s Hospital donation tin.

Our thanks go out to Terry for all his hard work.

He opened up, set up the rinks, looked after the bar, as well as the kitchen with some help from Robyn.

As usual we thank Pauline and John for their help; but we really thank Peter for all his hard work to get us all out and onto the green to compete in such a great day.

As usual we have winners and we have the rest of us.

And today’s winners on 38 points were Phil Wright (S), Dave Busuttil (3), Wilma Rees (2) and Max Summers (L).

Runners up, on a score of 35, were Michael Dady (S), Chris Coulson (3) and Arch Connel (L).

Best One Game winners, on 35 points, were John Nicholson (S), Cheryl Floyd (3), Dini Home (2) and Michael Waring (L).

We look forward to meeting again next week at San Remo.

We really hope that everyone can once again meet up to keep the numbers up.

Good luck to all our pennant players over the coming week and hope for success to as many of our group as possible.

Could all players please try to be on site by 10am at San Remo to help Peter organise the teams.
