Fantastic Floyd defeats a hot field at Lang Lang

SWGMW Bowls

The South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group headed to Lang Lang for its weekly challenge and was treated to a magnificent day for lawn bowls.

The green was in excellent condition, but was quite challenging for many bowlers on the day.

It was great to see some new bowlers joining in with the group and we hope they continue to grace our social group with their presence in the future.

There was lots of laughter throughout the day and a reasonable amount of friendly ribbing.

It was a pleasure to see so many (44) players turn up, but it does make it harder for Peter to prepare the teams.

We will have to look at how to start sharing this job in the near future.

But in the meantime, we thank Peter for all the hard work he does week in and week out.

As always, there are winners and there is the rest of us and the weekly winners on 34 points were:

Terry Floyd (S), Chris Brooks (3), Pauline McWilliams (2) and Peter Thorley (L).

Runners up on 29 points were Ken Harding (S), Mark Hanrahan (3), Derek Fenn (2) and Mike Waring (L).

Best One Game winners on 25 points were Phil Wright (S), Cheryl Floyd (3), Jenny Smith (2) and Graeme McLeish (L).

Thank you very much to Vicki, Jenny and everyone that helped clear up after the game, it is always appreciated by us all.

Next week we will be meeting at Corinella, we look forward to meeting up with our friends once again.

Good luck to all our bowlers with pennant matches over the coming week.

Please be on site at Corinella by 10am to allow Peter time to work his magic with team selection.
