SWGMW BOWLS

Members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group have been on a roller coaster ride as far as the weather is concerned recently…and it looks like continuing like that for a while yet.

However, Kooweerup was a great place to be on Thursday with a magnificent day and fabulous green providing perfect conditions to play our weekly challenge.

David opened the gates and prepared the rink for us all while Peter, Pauline and John did the paperwork inside.

We thank these selfless volunteers for all their hard work, and a big thank you to George who looked after the bar for the entire day.

On the green, once again, we could hear laughter from all areas as well as seeing some excellent bowling from our friendly family.

I am unaware this week of any wrong bias shots, but I could be mistaken.

But overall it was a great day for our 39 bowlers.

As usual we have winners and we have the rest of us and

The weekly winners with a score of 34 were Mark Andreatta (S), Laurie Bell (3), Pauline McWilliams (2) and Neil Andreatta.

Runners up, also on a score of 34, were Phil Wright (S), Rob Jeffrey (3), Frank D’Unienville (2) and Tony Morris (L).

Best One Game winners, on a score of 30, were Tony Heppleston (S), Chris Coulson (3) and Shane Wright (L).

Thank you once again to David who, along with Luke, cleaned up the green and the clubhouse after we finished.

The volunteers deserve better than our thanks but unfortunately that’s all we can give them.

This week we will be meeting at Lang Lang for our final challenge of the year.

If all players could please be on site by 10am, to allow time for Peter to work his magic getting the teams set up, that would be greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, have a great week, and to all our pennant players, we hope you have a good weekend of playing.

-Laurie Bell-
