LANG LANG GOLF
It was huge day at Lang Lang Golf Club on Saturday with the third and final round of the 2023 Club Championships being played.
Adding to the final-round drama was plenty of rain, plus the forecast thunderstorms also halted play on several occasions.
The course was in fantastic order despite the heavy rainfall and once again the golfers’ appreciation to the grounds crew is given.
Congratulations to all of Lang Lang’s Club Champions…and what a finish it was in many grades.
In Men’s A Grade Bart McDonald and Wayne Kennedy went in as equal leaders, with Clint ‘Casual’ Walker only one shot behind and Richard Briggs only a shot further back.
Bart was the eventual winner by two shots after a very tight tussle all day.
In Ladies A Grade, Jennifer Sullivan came from behind leader Rena Casey to win for the second year running.
The seniors provided much entertainment for everyone with Richard Briggs and John Beveridge finishing round three in a deadlock.
A play-off followed, with Briggs coming off best to snare the trophy.
It has certainly been a Championship full of excitement and drama, and some tough conditions especially in the final round.
Well done to Lang Lang’s 2023 Club Champions.
In the coming weeks there are some exciting events coming up at the club.
Saturday 9 December will see our Men’s Foursomes Board event, and the following Friday night, 15 December, we have a social night booked in with a $500 cash prize for nearest the pin, which is proudly sponsored by our friends at Community Bank Lang Lang.
It will also feature an eight-hole individual event, dinner and live music.
