Awesome from Andreatta at Lang Lang

The South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group descended on mass to the Lang Lang Bowls Club on Thursday to enjoy the weekly challenge that was played in absolutely ideal conditions.

What a day it was, with spring weather bordering on summer conditions as the players fought it out for team of the week.

It was a fabulous turnout as 39 players turned up…it appears that last week’s cancelation – due to rain – gave most of the group withdrawal symptoms!

Also a few players returned after being away, or missing for quite a while, and it was a pleasure to see them return.

A lot of fun and laughter was seen and heard across the rinks, with one or two wrong bias bowls, but it was a day for some excellent bowling from virtually everyone.

A big thank you to Lang Lang for a very well presented green, the green keeper should feel proud.

Also, a big thank you this week to all our players.

We rarely ever say it, but they make our Thursday’s work and without them it would be just like any other day.

As usual there are winners, and then there are the rest of us.

This week’s winners on 35 points were Mark Andreatta (S), Michael Saunders (3), Jim Noonan (2) and Elaine Williams (L).

Runners up on 34 points were John Nicholson (S), Rob Jeffrey (3), Gwen Jeffery (2) and Peter Stansfield (L).

Best One Game winners on 26 points were Peter Gratton (S), Frank D’Unienville (3), Bev Elliott (2) and Max Williams (L).

It was good to have Marianne and Colin on site to look after all our bowlers; it’s always great to see them.

Congratulations to Tony and Michael on their recent win.

Great medals and you really earned them.

This week we will be attending Corinella Bowls Club to once again fight it out for team of the week.

We hope to see as many players as we can once again.

If everyone could be on site by 10am to try to make Peter’s life a bit easier when arranging teams, that would be greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, stay safe and see you next week.
