Borradale brains them at Kooweerup

Members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group descended on the beautiful Kooweerup Bowling Club on Thursday to decide who would come out on top in the weekly challenge.

A great turnout of 31 bowlers took part on a great day for bowls, the weather of a perfect temperature for a mid-August winters’ day.

There was also no wind to speak of and no complaints about the green, with Kooweerup Bowling Club providing the group with great facilities as usual.

There were not a lot of wrong-bias this week but John managed to add some money to the Royal Children’s Hospital tin.

As usual there was a fair amount of laughter and friendly banter between players which always makes the day fun for all.

The weekly winners on 36 points were Peter Borradale (S), Phil Wright (3), Vicky Barns (2) and Elaine Williams (L).

Runners up, also on 33 points, were Ken Harding (S), Gillian Harper (3), Terry Floyd (2) and Tony Morris (L).

Best One Game winners, on 23 points, were Michael Dady (S), John Williams (3), Pauline McWilliams (2) and Max Williams (L).

Thank you to David for opening up and preparing the green as well as George who assisted as well as tending the bar.

Also, thank you to David, Luke, Helen and anyone else overlooked who tidied up after the game.

This week the group heads to Lang Lang; and the group is looking forward to big crowds being in attendance.

Be at the club by 10:00am for a 10:30 start to the day.

All comers are welcome…the group hopes to see you on the green.
