LANG LANG GOLF
A very wet and cold day saw a smaller than usual field brave the conditions at Lang Lang Golf Club on Saturday for a Par competition.
Craig Venville was the star of the day, taking out top honours with a great score in the conditions of +3.
In Division 1, Venville’s score was two shots better than runner up Gary Oswald on +1, while Chris Tuckwell was third after finishing square with the card.
The Division 2 winner was Brendan Kearns with +1, from runner up Rodney Marshall, square, who won second prize from Bill Lucas on a countback.
Nicole Ellen stole the show in Division 3, finishing with +1 to win by one shot from runner up Tom Condy. Peter Blackwood secured third prize with a score of -1.
Ball rundown went to scores of -2, while nearest the pins went to 5th Bart McDonald, 9th Paul Jamieson, 12th David Barrie and 15th Paul De Pasquale.
Closest second shots on the third hole went to Jason Hester (Div 1) and Michael Herman (Div 2).
• Tuesday Stableford
Division 1 winner: Ian Farrer 41 points. Runner up Chris Clark 39 points.
Division 2 winner: Kevin Cresp 40 points. Runner up Douglas Collins 38 points.
Ball rundown to 35 points and nearest the pins went to 5th Grant Maskiell, 9th Bradley Vigilante, 12th Ralph Hendrich and 15th Gary Jollands.
• Wednesday Ladies Stableford
Winner: Maria Warburton, 37 points via countback. Runner up: Maureen Nankervis.
Ball rundown to 34 points and nearest the pin s went to 9th Lee Andrews and 12th Maria Warburton.
• Thursday Stableford/2BBB Competition
Stableford Winner: Laurie Burgess with 40 points via countback. Runner up: Michael Johansson.
Ball rundown to 35 points.
2BBB Winners: Michael Johansson and Phil Conroy with 47 points.
2BBB Runners Up: Peter Sellers and Trevor Cridland with 46 points.
Nearest the pins went to 5th Frank Leontini, 9th Patrick Farrell, 12th Laurie Burgess and 15th Simon Vigilante.
• Sunday Stableford
Winner: Gary Jollands with 39 points. Runner up: Kerrie Davey with 37 points. Ball rundown to 34 points.
Congratulations also to Chris Tuckwell defeating Fia TooToo 2/1 in the semi-final of the R.D. Hall Match Play event.

Our usual competitions will be held during the week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and now also on Sundays to accommodate our growing membership base and as an alternative for those who are busy on Saturdays.
