A cold morning greeted the 36 players from the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group who arrived at Kooweerup to once again fight it out for team of the week.
David set up the greens and raised the flags at Kooweerup, while Pauline and John greeted everyone and collected the fees.
Peter prepared the teams, who were all pleasantly surprised as coats and jumpers were discarded as the sun made an appearance and started to beat down.
The bowling was all quality with very few errant bowls, which says quite a bit about the excellent condition of the green.
As usual some great friendly banter and lots of laughter could be heard around the greens.
However, as always, not everyone can be the winner, and this week’s winners on 36 points were Ken Harding (S), Laurie Bell (3), Bill Williams (2) and Kevin Kitchin (L).
Runners up on 32 points were Tony Heppleston (3), Robyn Coulson (3), Gwen Jeffrey (2) and Elaine Williams (L).
Best One Game winners on 24 points were Michael Dady (S), Frank D’Unienville (3) and Peter Thorley (L).
It was great to see Elaine return following her fall from almost a year ago, and it was also great to see her in the winner’s circle on her first game back.
A big thank you to David in the bar as well as for cleaning up after the game with Luke, Helen and Laurie.
This Thursday we will be meeting at Lang Lang at 10:00am and we look forward to seeing everyone there for a 10.30am start.
