Andreatta holds the aces at San Remo

The South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group converged on San Remo Bowls Club last week with 23 bowlers keen to put their hand up and be part of the winning team.

It was a bit cool, but there was no wind to speak of which made for quite an interesting day with a lot of quality performances from our bowling family.

A few of the regulars couldn’t make it to San Remo, but the group looks forward to their return in the coming weeks.

As usual there was a very friendly atmosphere on the green with lots of banter between the players with quite a bit of laughter heard around on the rink.

A big thank you to both Gwen in the kitchen and Peter behind the bar.

As usual there are winners, and then there are the rest of us, and this week’s winners on 33 points were Mark Andreatta (S), Frank d’Unionville (3), David Hipworth (2) and Margaret McConville (L).

Runners up today on 23 points were John Nicholson (S), Gwen Jeffrey (3), Michael Saunders (2) and Shirley Corcoran (L).

Best One-Game winners on 21 points were Tony Heppleston (S), Rob Jeffreys (3), Chris Brooks (2) and Mike Waring (L).

This week the group returns to Kooweerup, meeting at 10am for a 10:30am start.

The group looks forward to seeing everyone there.
