Angus and Payne emerge victorious

Highly-coveted April Monthly Medals went up for grabs at Lang Lang Golf Club on Saturday with John Angus and Heather Payne proving the best of the best for this month.

Angus scored 68 nett to win Division 2 from runner up Jeff Robinson, who scored 69 nett, with Gary Wigham coming home in third place with a nett 70.

Heather Payne claimed top honours in Division 3, from runner up Aiden Gajanovic and third placegetter Tom Casey.

Ben Hallas came out on top in a highly-competitive Division 1 contest, scoring a nett 69 to win a three-way countback from runner up Ralph Hendrich and third placegetter Jason Hester.

Balls down the line went to a nett 73.

Results for the week as follows:

• Tuesday Stableford Comp

The Division 1 winner was Frankie Chiu with 37 points by countback to Simon Vigilante.

The Division 2 winner was Chris Kelsall with 39 points, five shots clear of runner up Noel Boyd on 34 points. Ball rundown to 31 points.

Nearest the pins went to: 5th Noel Boyd, 9th Tim Purdy, 12th Bradley Vigilante and 15th Peter Sellers.

• Wednesday Ladies Par Comp

Not played due to weather conditions.

• Thursday Stableford/2BBB Comp

2BBB winners were Dale Gude and Kurt Batt with 46, from runners up Jason Herbert and Vern Hall on 44.

Individual stableford winners were Fia Tootoo with 41 points with Phil Conroy runner up with 37 points. Ball rundown to 33 points.

Nearest the pins went to: 5th Phil Conroy, 9th Peter Sellers and 12th Darrell Gude.

Over the Easter long weekend Lang Lang will host competitions on all four days for members and guests who have a GA handicap.
