SOUTH WEST GIPPSLAND MIDWEEK BOWLS

It was another great day for the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling group with 29 friendly faces arriving at the San Remo Bowls Club for the exciting weekly challenge.

The weather was predicted to be in the early 30’s but felt more comfortable in the mid-to-high 20s.

The day started off absolutely calm but over the course of the day did build up with a reasonably strong wind.

As usual there was lots of friendly banter but some great quality bowling to go with it.

A few ‘donations’ were made to the Royal Children’s Hospital tin this week, courtesy of some wrong-bias bowls, but the group is always grateful to pass on.

The big winners this week with 33 points were Dennis Talbot (S), Sue Stansfield (3) and Tony Morris (L).

Runners up on 23 points were Tony Heppleston (S), Robyn Coulson (3), Pauline McWilliams (2) and John Morgan (L).

And the Best One Game winners on 22 points were John Nicholson (S), Terry Floyd (3), Chris Coulson (2) and Shirley Corcoran (L).

Congratulations to all our winners.

Thank you to Gwen in the kitchen as well as Mark behind the bar.

We appreciate the work our volunteers do each week.

Next week we will head to Kooweerup to continue our weekly challenge.

We look forward to seeing everyone there; meanwhile we hope all is well with everyone for the coming week.

And to those members still playing pennant finals, we wish good luck to you.
