A day to remember at Lang Lang

It was one of the best days in recent memory for members of the South West Gippsland Mid-Week Bowling Group last week with wonderful weather, great friends, superb greens and strong competition.

Come to think of it…what more could you ask for!

A strong group of 30 bowlers turned up at Lang Lang including Sue and Greg who were down from Queensland.

The games were hard fought and the winners unreservedly deserved their wins.

There was quite a bit of friendly banter across all rinks, but the camaraderie is what makes the midweek meetings so much fun.

And one or two wrong bias bowls helped the Royal Children’s Hospital tin get that little bit heavier as well.

This week’s winners, on 35 points, were Mark Andreatta (S), Luke Monckton (3), Enid Johnson (2) and Michael Dady (L).

Runners up, also on 35 points, were Tony Heppleston (S), Sue Stansfield (3), Chris Brooks (2) and Peter Thorley (L).

Best One Game winners, on 24 points, were Greg Wood (S), Robyn Coulson (3), Sue Wood (2) and Jenny Smith (L).

A big thank you to Marianne and Ian behind the bar, Marianne and Jenny in the Kitchen, and Peter and Pauline for keeping Thursday’s working every week.

Also thank you to John as master of ceremonies each week.

And the group is very appreciative of Lang Lang for providing such a great green.

Next week we will reconvene at Corinella at 10am.

We look forward to seeing everyone there.
