The stage is set for a cracking finale to the Group-2 Warragul Cup after one ‘legend’ starred and another suffered a shock defeat in Friday night’s heats.
Mobile Legend will be tough to beat in Friday night’s final after setting the pace with a runaway 25.46sec heat win at his Warragul debut.
However, the undisputed headline act in the eight ‘must win’ heats was champion Wow She’s Fast.
She began well but was unable to cross Money Owes, trained by Greg Berry, which kicked clear entering the home straight to upset the series favourite.
As part of the Warragul club’s community engagement program the greyhounds in Friday night’s Viatek Warragul Cup heats had been allocated to 64 community clubs and groups.
A total prize pool of $11,000 is up for grabs and the community group aligned to each wining greyhound from each heat has gone through to the finals.
The winning club/group will take home a first-place prize of $5000.
The runner-up will receive $3000, third placegetter $2000 and the club connected to fourth past the post will walk away with $1000.
The Warragul Cup on Friday night is sure to be a great night of racing with free entry and a special guest, AFL great Gary Ablett, on track.
Gary will socialise with the crowd and is happy to have photos taken and sign autographs with those on track.
