Morning session better than none

The South West Gippsland Midweek Bowls group continued its roam around the region with a visit to the picturesque Corinella Bowls Club on Thursday.

But unfortunately the day was cut short due to inclement weather.

Normally the day would not have ended so early but the group was careful not to damage the new green by playing when it is half underwater.

The afternoon session was missed because of the rain.

The morning session went quite well with some great bowling on the new green at Corinella.

There was still a lot of friendly banter, lots of laughter, and a few wayward bowls thrown in.

A few of the bowlers had a slight problem adjusting to the new carpet.

The winners on 16 points were John Nicholson (S), Terry Floyd (3), Bill Williams (2) and Tony Morris (L).

Runners-up for the day on 13 points were Michael Dady (S), David Talbot (3), Sue Wright (2) and Phil Wright (L).

There was no ‘Best One Game’ awarded for the week but the group hopes to have it back at its next roll up.

This week will be the final game for the year so a full house of members is anticipated.

Thank you to Phil for welcoming us to Corinella and for looking after the bar.

All bowlers should be at San Remo Bowls Club this Thursday at 10am.
