Tuckwell terrific at Lang Lang

It’s been back to business as usual at Lang Lang Golf Club with the excitement of the Club Championships all over.

The course remains in fabulous condition and we continue to welcome many golfers from various clubs coming to play at Lang Lang, which is testament to the way the course is presented week after week.

For anyone who has not yet booked their spot for the upcoming Social night on Friday 16 December, please do so ASAP.

It promises to be a night full of fun with a two-person Ambrose competition, a party hole worth $250, prizes for the straightest drive, a BBQ, and two different happy hours to name just a few. Bookings for golf, BBQ dinner and the courtesy bus can be made at the clubhouse.

Members, guests and visitors are all welcome to join in this fabulous night of fun.

Here are this week’s results.

Tuesday Stableford Comp

Fields are starting to resemble usual numbers with a slight improvement in weather early in the week.

Division One winner was Chris Tuckwell with a score of 38 points, and runner up by countback was Dave Austin.

Division Two winner was Richard Oldham with 39 points, and runner up with 38 points was Bill Stainsby.

Ball rundown to 35 points.

Nearest the pin: 5th Jason Herbert, 9th Michael Fahey, 12th Clive Taylor and 15th Frankie Chiu.

The Ladies Joy Kitchen Foursomes was played on Wednesday which was won by Kerrie Davey and Paula Sweeney with a score of 95.

Thursday’s Stableford competition saw a large field contending for the prize, with the winners being Keith Stockdale and Peter Sellers with 39 points.

Ball rundown to 35 points

Nearest the pin: 5th Peter Sellers, 9th Bart McDonald, 12th Alan Courtney and 15th Keith Stockdale.

Saturday’s Stableford competition was played under sunny skies and was the warmest day golfers have seen in a long time.

A big field competed and the great conditions saw some very good scores.

The eventual winners in each grade were as follows.

Division 1

Bradley Vigilante with 41 points from Gary Sosenko with 39 points.

Division 2

Michael Harmes with 42 points on a countback from Steve Jones.

Division 3

Rena Casey with 40 points on a countback from David Wylie.

Ball rundown to 36 points
