Finally bowled over by nice weather

The South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group finally had some wonderful weather to enjoy which has been a rarity so far this spring.

Temperature in the high twenties, not too much wind, some cloud cover, what a pleasure for the 26 players who turned up for our weekly challenge, this time at the picturesque San Remo Bowls Club.

As always; friendly banter could be heard across the green along with quite a bit of laughter.

There were a few wrong bias bowls for the day but not too many to cause havoc on the neighbouring rinks.

It was good to have Lindsay back after his absence on health grounds and also good to have Peter back now that his work has been completed.

The winners, with a score of 34, were John Nicholson (S), Frank d’Unienville (3) and Michael Saunders (L).

Runners up, on 32 points, were Peter McWilliams and Lindsay Russell (Co-Skips), with Sue Stansfield (3) and Tony Morris (L).

Best one game, with 25 points, was won by Terry Floyd (S), Enid Johnson (3) and John Morgan (L).

Once again we send a big thank you to San Remo for stepping in.

Thanks once again to Peter and Pauline as well as John who do a great job keeping everyone happy week after week.

And also thank you to Gwen in the kitchen as well as Peter in the bar.

Next Thursday we will be returning to San Remo once more to continue our weekly challenge.

So we look forward to seeing everyone turn up by 10:00am.
