LANG LANG GOLF

Very cold, wet and windy weather kept a lot of golfers away from Lang Lang this week, but the good news is that the course has dried out and the forecast is looking much brighter.

Despite all the rain we have had, the course is in fantastic condition for the Club Championships kicking off this week.

The Cup Day Stableford competition saw a fairly large field brave the conditions on Tuesday with the Division 1 winner being Dale Gude with 38 points, runner up Brendon Kearns with 37 points. Division 2 winner was Jayden Deas with 39 points and runner up Lucas Ligt on 36 points.

Ball rundown to 34 points.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Kevin Cresp, 9th Tony Ambrus, 12th Matthew Hogan and 15th Simon Vigilante.

Thursday’s Stableford competition attracted a smaller than usual crowd due to the ongoing rain forecast, but the bleak conditions didn’t dampen the players enthusiasm.

The winner on the day was Bill Taberer (Bargara GC) with 37 points, and runner up went to Joe Kelly (Phillip Island GC).

It’s great to see so many players from other areas enjoying the course.

Saturday Stableford Competition

Finally, we were able to enjoy some sunshine and much better golfing conditions on Saturday.

A very large field ensured some worthy winners as follows:

Division 1

Winner: Michael Foote 41 points (countback). Runner up: Bradley Vigilante.

Division 2

Winner: Steve Fuller 40 points (countback). Runner up: John Sood.

Division 3

Winner: Matthew Goble 44 points. Runner up: Paul Hardy 42 points.

Ball rundown to 36 points.

We look forward to seeing all of our members, guests and visitors over the coming weeks as it warms up and welcome any new faces to enjoy the beautiful course at Lang Lang.

Happy golfing.
