Dehey delivers with 40 points at Lang Lang

A field of 63 players took to the course at Lang Lang for Tuesday’s stableford competition with Jesse Dehey taking out A Grade with a terrific score of 40 points.

Runner up with a score of 37 points was Mandalay visitor Shane Kolacz.

The B Grade winner was William Stringer, who matched Dehey’s score of 40 points, with Ron Constantine scoring 35 points to take home the B Grade runner-up prize.

Balls down the line went to 34 points.

Nearest the pins went to; 5th Gary Beresford, 9th Daniel Cameron, 12th Chris Clark and 15th Laurie Burgess.

Wednesday was the Ladies stableford competition with the winner being Kerrie Davey with a score of 38 points and runner-up Maria Warburton scoring 37 points.

Balls down the line went to 32 points.

Nearest the pins went to: 9th Kerrie Davey and 12th Maria Warburton.

Thursday’s Stableford/4BBB competition winner was Vern Hall with 41 points, winner by countback to runner-up Graeme Niven.

The winning team for 4BBB was Rod Cameron and Paul Moore with 48 points and runners up were Frankie Chiu and Noel Boyd with a score of 47 points.

Balls down the line went to 37 points.

Nearest the pins went to; 5th Paul Moore, 9th Steve Dunn, 12th Ralph Hendrich and 15th Peter Sellers.

A very soggy morning set the stage for the 4BBB Championships on Saturday.

By lunch time the skies had cleared and the afternoon golfers enjoyed much better conditions than the morning crew.

Clint ‘Casual’ Walker and Brian Paynter took out the gross prize with a score of 67.

The nett winners were Lucas Carroll and Ben Hussey with a score of 55.

On Monday four of our lady members represented the club at the Cranbourne Bowl at the Cranbourne Golf Club.

Rena Casey, Jodie Mays, Nicole Ellen and Sue O’Connor fell one point short of bringing home the prize in the 4BBB with a combined score of 80 points.

The team came third on a countback to the winning club who scored 81 points.

Rena Casey and Jodie Mays won the pairs event with a score of 46 points.

Congratulations to all winners this week that had to contend with some tough conditions.

Club Championships are quickly approaching, commencing on Saturday 5 November and Wednesday 9 November.
