Melbourne City’s Jamie Maclaren has secured his third consecutive Golden Boot award in the Men’s A-league and his fourth overall.
Maclaren has had a stellar season slotting home 15 goals this season, helping Melbourne City clinch the Premiers Plate for a second-consecutive year.
The international secured the award after heading home a handy assist from Andrew Nabbout to help Melbourne City seal the points against Wellington Phoenix in its final game of the season.
The striker has also made his presence felt during City’s Asian Champions League campaign scoring 2-goals in six appearances.
Melbourne City coach Patrick Kisnorbo was full of praise for his star-striker in the face of being asked if he was recognised enough.
“One thing Jamie has shown is consistency over three years and sometimes when you look back people have to say well done,” he said.
“We can’t be negative and we have to look back and think someone achieved something really good, consistently he has done that for three years and I am very happy for him.”
Maclaren has had a stellar career for the green and gold. Maclaren has made 22 appearances for the Socceroos scoring eight goals.
Maclaren will be hoping he and Melbourne City can claim back-to-back Championships this season.
