CRANBOURNE BOWLS
Playing at home Cranbourne had high aspirations of a strong victory against Ferntree Gully but despite winning on three rinks came up short by three shots at the end of play.
At the half-way mark of the season Cranbourne has had five wins and two losses with an exciting game scheduled against Narre Warren next Saturday.
The second and third sides also lost but the fourths and fifths recorded wins.
In mid-week bowls the Cranbourne top side won by four shots against Narre Warren.
Covid is having an impact on the availability of a number of players which is making it difficult to fill all teams at present.
New bowler Anne Munro played her first game and had a win thanks to Skip and club legend Stan Burnett who gave her encouragement and direction.
Saturday Pennant

Coming off a five-game winning streak Cranbourne were a little flat in the early stages of the game against Ferntree Gully and although they bridged the gap, they still went down by three shots to record a loss for the start of the year.
Skip Doug Boggie played exceptionally well despite not being 100% fit, backed up by his team of Danny Meyer, Stan Myers and Peter Elgar they won by 14 shots.
Skip Jay Tootell won by four shots and Skip Noel Hardy won by two shots.
Cranbourne 67 (6 points) lost to Ferntree Gully 70 (12 points)

No joy for Cranbourne against Burden Park going down by 54 shots.
Skip Jammie Corney was the only winning rink winning by two shots.

Two rinks up and two rinks down but Cranbourne were defeated by 24 shots against Berwick.
Skip Yvonne Van Der Wees and her team of Bob Scott, Gwen Scott and Neil Fotheringham won by five shots.

A win for Cranbourne by 21 shots.
Skip John Mulder, Scott De Piazza, Phil Nielsen and Bob Bellamy won by 11 shots.

Another win for Cranbourne and for new bowler Anne Munro a win in her rink in her first game of bowls.
Skip Peter Colthup, Cheryl Wright, Norm Coley and Frank Male won by 13 shots which was another great effort from an inform side.

Two wins in a row against quality opposition was a pleasing result.
This week Cranbourne defeated Narre Warren by four shots in a thrilling game.
Skip Steve Hickson and his crew of Gary Farrington, Barry Graham and Lynne Wood won by 14 shots while Skip Chris Griffiths and his crew of Harry Van Soest, Jim Williams and Brian Caddell won by 12 shots.
Cranbourne 57 (14 points) defeated Narre Warren 53 (2 points)

Cranbourne had a good game against Monbulk but went down by seven shots in the end.
Skip Tony Whalley and his team of Derek Maguire, Kath Dudink and Lyn Whalley won by 15 shots.

A win for Cranbourne by 43 shots against Mulgrave was a great result.
Skip John Gardner and his crew of Roger Roscoe, John Mulder and Bob Dickson won by 20 shots while Skip Peter Colthup won by 18 shots and Skip Yvonne van der Wees won by five shots.
