Pakenham train line down after emergency incident

Trains on the Pakenham, Traralgon and Bairnsdale lines are disrupted, due to an emergency services incident at Berwick.

The Department of Transport gave notice on Wednesday morning that buses are replacing metropolitan trains on the Pakenham Line between Dandenong and East Pakenham. Trains continue to operate between Flinders Street and Dandenong, with delays to services likely.

Passengers may consider using a combination of local bus routes 828 and 926 to connect with trains.

Coaches are replacing V/Line trains on the Traralgon and Bairnsdale lines between Southern Cross and East Pakenham. Trains continue to operate between East Pakenham, Traralgon and Bairnsdale.

The Department of Transport ask passengers to check station platform displays and listen for announcements, and allow additional time for their journey.

Motorists are asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and buses around train stations on the Pakenham Line.

Signals team is monitoring conditions in the area and will adjust traffic lights to assist with bus movements.
