Devon Meadows Primary School celebrated Father’s Day on Thursday 4 September.
According to school teacher Carries Butler, the school invited all of the fathers and special people from the community for a free breakfast.
“We’ve provided egg and bacon rolls, and a coffee cart comes along. We have all of the teachers volunteer their time to cook breakfast, cook the barbecue, and do everything for the dads,” she said.
Ms Butler estimated that about 250 fathers attended the event, which was a great turnout.
“It was a wonderful morning for the kids to kick the footy with the dads,” she said.
“They loved doing drawing with the dads and building Lego.
“It was a really great opportunity for the kids to connect with the special people in their lives.
“It’s just a great way for the community to get together.”
