Connected Libraries’ Buildings of Casey photographer competition is back this spring.
Residents are encouraged to collect images of the City of Casey’s current buildings, for tomorrow’s history.
Photos submitted will be kept in the library’s Local History Archive and used for historical projects in the future.
The winner of the competition in 2023 is Sarah H.’s End of the Line. The photo captures the section of the decommissioned railway between Broad Oak Drive and Casey Fields Boulevard.
Connected Libraries local history librarian Kate Davis said the Connected Libraries Local History Archive documented the history of the City of Casey and its diverse communities.
“Who better to decide which buildings should be recorded for future generations than the community themselves!” she said.
“We want to collect photos of significant buildings, old and new, in the Casey region. There are some great older buildings, like the Old Cheese Factory, as well as impressive modern buildings, like the Casey Fields headquarters.
“We need the community’s help to get out there and photograph these sites.
“Entrants get a chance to be part of recording our local history – and go in the running for Visa Gift Card prize.”
The competition is open now until 5pm on Monday 30 September.
