Annual charity golf day a success

Cranbourne Rotary’s 57th Annual Charity Golf Day was another great success this year.

On Friday 15 March, over 90 avid golfers competed for prizes that were donated by sponsors and members.

Prizes were awarded to the best team on the day, the team from Arnotts Vegetable Farm.

Other prizes were awarded for second and third place as well as closest to the pin, putting, and straightest drive.

The event was held at Settler’s Run Country Club Cranbourne. It began with a shotgun start at noon with a BBQ lunch and ended with a dinner for all the players.

Cranbourne Rotary president Gerard Sadler was excited by the overwhelming support the club received this year.

“It was a brilliant day not only weather-wise but also I was extremely pleased with the support from our sponsors, golfers, and businesses who paid for teams to attend our major fundraiser for the year,” he said.

“A special thanks to COMPNOW, our major sponsor for supporting this day.

“We could not thank everyone enough for giving us their time and financial support.”

The day raised more than $29,000 and all funds will be donated to local worthy causes such as ACE Foundation, CISC- Community Information Support Services, and the Cranbourne Food Truck.

All these organisations help support children and their families who are struggling with poverty.

The Cranbourne Rotary members who work hard by donating their time and resources come from a diverse range of fields.

They include farmers, engineers, teachers, public servants, bankers, business owners, and such.

Cranbourne Rotary meets every Tuesday at Settlers Run Cranbourne. If anyone is interested in finding out more about the club, please contact Gerard on 0400 351 081.
